The team got back to winning ways with a convincing win over Leighton Town. It was the perfect start when in the very first minute Hampton went 1-0 up. A mazy run from Stitch saw him feed it through to Joey who calmly finished past the keeper. Leighton threatened an equaliser straight away and Joe Talbot had to be quick off his line to snuff out the danger and was kept on his toes from a lobbed shot- but after that Joe found little to do. Hampton and Joey's second goal came on 15mins..Stitch moved the ball forward and Ola beat the onrushing keeper to the ball. Ola controlled the ball and pulled the ball back to Joey who was able to finish easily with the keeper out of position. On the half hour it was three...Ashley put the ball into Ola's feet. Ola spun the defender at his back, who gave up the chase, and as the keeper advanced Ola kept his nerve and passed the ball into the back of the net. A chance fell to each side just before half-time. A Hampton error gave the Leighton striker a chance to test Joe but he saved with his legs and Blake headed away. Quick to respond Dorian Smith made a sweet pass to Ashley Quashie who fired in a low cross from the left. Joey got on the end of it but his shot was blocked.

Again we got off to a quick start in the second half..the midfield won the ball and it was laid through to Joey. He rolled the ball wide to Stitch who cut inside past the full back before drilling a low left foot shot past the keeper. Ola was looking for his second goal and from a long ball through again his pace took him past the keeper - but he was taken wide and shot over the bar. Hampton were creating chance after chance - Joey hit a powerful shot from distance that rattled the bar..Ola struck home rebound but was flagged offside. Ola then turned creator with another powerful run, shrugging off his marker and sliding the ball across the face of goal. Stitch could have been no more than a stud's length away from scoring. Louis-Rae came close with a run at the heart of the defence but his shot was wide. An Ashley Quashie free-kick was well directed and only needed the slightest touch for a certain goal. Stitch created the next chance - another great cross that Ola directed goalwards looking light a certain goal - but the Leighton Town keeper made a fantastic save to tip it onto the post and away. We thought another goal had been scored when Stitch clipped the ball into the area Ashley Quashie hit the ball home - again though flagged offside. Hampton made a triple substitution to bring fresh legs for the last 20mins or so. It was Troy who made the biggest impact with two goals in that time. The first was after a bit of a howler from the keeper...A free kick from distance looked straightforward enough to collect - but he dropped it straight at Troy's feet who was able to score easily. He quickly followed that up with another. A long ball from the left side saw Otis get a deft touch on the ball placing the ball into Troy's path. He took the ball on and fired home to complete the scoring.
Louis-Rae did ask for a special mention in the match report - so just for him ... I hope your gloves didn't get too dirty

This game was amazing. Credit to Hampton, a real professional show from back to front.
I was really impressed with the team, its time that a few really get pushed up, i mean the defenders either side of the centre back blake goodman and billy witham had a great game and really led the game from the back.
The midfield was again impressive as usual, i think stitch was great jus needed to polish up on a few of his final deliveries as well as ashley quashie and a more effective second half but lacked any input during the first. The middle three of the five worked well i believe they all had something different to offer which was good for the team.
As for the strikers on the night the new striker brought in Ola i felt was a real bully, strong and pacey and was rewarded with an early goal and i feel he works well with Collewijn as he's the more technical of the two and again worked well hence 3 goals between them and five if you add the two of the substitute striker.
