What did happen to that bench that we use to sit on when those cold Tuesday night Middlesex cup games started to send us all asleep?

Jon Boy, That brought back memories of those cold winter evenings when Sue P. would serve P.W. with his favourite (apart from Newcastle Brown!) winter brew of Bovril with lashings of white pepper.

I remember Ashley Sestanovich's 30plus yarder. Can't remember the opposition but will never forget the goal. Hmm. I wonder what happened to him?!!!!!!!

Ashley Shane Sestanovich (born 18 September 1981 in Lambeth) is an English footballer of Croatian and Grenadian descent. [1] In 2006 he was arrested and charged with conspiracy to rob, and in April 2007 was found guilty and sentenced to eight years in prison.[2][3]

Because he is!

We sold him to Sheffield Utd (abt 2001) but didn't play much & ended up at Grays (I think)

Not really. Arrogant man. Lazy too. Yeah he could do amazing things with a football, but only when he could be bothered to put the effort in, which wasn't very often. The season he was at Hampton he probably was rarely at training, as he had trial after trial at pro clubs, even travelling to France too. It was clear someone at Hampton signed him purely to get him on a contract and sell him for a decent figure.

I'd rather have one of the current crop like Barrie Matthews who will run their heart out for the team, and play out of position for the good of the team.

No doubt Sestanovich will end up benefitting from Ian Wright's prison football scheme if it gets approval nation wide.

Jamie. although a lot of supporters (no, not you Jamie or Colin, Stef, Jon etc!!!!) who post on this forum have been supporting the club in the post Cords era, i was at most training sessions during that period he was at the club and yes he did regularly turn up for training.

Well I was pleased to see that a small two line comment about the Beavers created so many views!
I have only been supporting them for 6 seasons so I am not an old time campaigner.
Over those seasons I have introduced 5 different supporters to the Club to try and boost the gates.
If everyone could get a mate to come down to see us play it might help boost the finances of the Club.
I pay in every week even though I could get a free ticket because unlike the big boys we need every penny.
Some weeks its tough going watching the long ball and thats why I was so pleased to see the boys play passing football and show their skills - it does make the game more interesting.
Watch all the games home and way unless I am away on holiday.

Just one thought ???? Last seasons play off final should have been the time when the Club made sure that all regular supporters got decent seats to watch the game, Im only titchy and I spent almost all the game on tiptoes trying to watch the action.

See you all at Aveley. Great club to watch and I can honestly say that I have been lucky because we seem to have been involved in something every year since I have been going. -GeoffO
