Hampton overcame a slow start to eventually run out comfortable winners and notch up another 3 points. Chesham had lost 2-0 midweek to our nearest rivals in the table Leighton Town, and observers said they deserved better.
Chesham certainly made the early running and Joe Talbot had to be at his very best with two saves in the first 15mins. The first a strong right hand save by the post following a strong left foot shot from the Chesham nbr11. Then another passing move resulted in a low strike which Joe did well to gather. From then on though we finally began to find our feet to dominate the rest of the half. Our first chance of the game when a short corner was played into Dayo's feet. His shot was blocked but Joey Collewijn was able to collect the rebound and whip in a dangerous cross - which was headed over by Louis-Rae when perhaps there was another Hampton player better placed to to get on the end of the cross.
The first goal came on 24mins..Ola held off his defender using his strength and turned him in the penalty area. The defender made a rash tackle and brought Ola down - penalty awarded. Joey Collewijn took the responsibility and though the keeper got half a hand to the ball it was too well placed for the keeper to stop us going 1-0 up.
Ola and Joey were causing panic amongst the Chesham back 4 and Ola made another strong run - this time to the byline - where he pulled the ball back, probably just a fraction too far behind Joey for him to get a strong enough strike away. Ashley Quashie nearly set up a goal with a quality corner - Louis-Rae just failing to convert the header.
The short corner routine nearly worked, when Dayo again latched onto a short corner, forcing the Chesham keeper into a save. Then on the stroke of half-time we doubled our lead. Ashley Lawrence carried the ball before knocking it forward for Dayo to show his speed past the full back. His great low cross was met by Joey and his close range effort forced the keeper into a good sharp stop - however he couldn't hang on and Joey was able to finish and follow up his own effort.

Again we started the second half slowly. A mistake led to the Chesham nbr 10 having a clear shot on goal - but his strike was wide. On 51mins Ashley Quashie cut inside and though a defender blocked his run with a tackle, the ball fell to Joey and his well struck shot went narrowly wide. Joey completed his hat-trick on 58mins - Joey held the ball up well and managed to slip the ball in to Ola - who was again brought down in the area. Not a difficult decision for the ref to make and he pointed to the spot. Joey was handed the ball again - and this time the keeper had no chance with a good strike from 12 yards out.
The lead was nearly reduced when a long crossfield ball found the nbr 10 at the far post. His shot was powerful and heading for the top corner...but Joe Talbot pulled out something special and got a strong hand to the ball to turn it away.
Ashley again showed how dangerous his crosses can be from set plays - but again the header didn't match the delivery. This was the start of a 15mins spell where we looked like we might score a hatful. Ashley forced the keeper to a sharp save and Joey just chipped over seeking his fourth goal. This was the last contribution from them both, after a good afternoon's work, as they were replaced by Larry and James Bailey. James nearly bagged a goal straight away but didn't connect properly from Louis-Rae's through ball. Then the one person who perhaps has deserved a goal more than most over the past couple of games was given two efforts on goal but James Brown was thwarted by the keeper both times.
Chesham nearly came close after we failed to clear our lines, but the Chesham shot was wide.
With 10mins to go an Ashley Lawrence header from the halfway line to Dayo enabled him to flick the ball to Louis-Rae, with a clever flick, but he couldn't finish.
Larry showed some of his clever left wing skills and his low cross was cleared - and again James Brown saw his shot blocked.
The 4th goal came with 5mins remaining - Ola latched onto a through ball - and as usual he was strong enough to hold off the defender. He unleashed a powerful shot which whistled past the keeper and into the net.
Still we had time to carve 3 more good chances but a James Brown header, a James Bailey left foot shot and a Louis-Rae Beadle strike all came to nothing.

Another excellent report for the Ressies Keffyh.

Perhaps the club could post reports of 1st Team matches in the same way.
