The 'Hammonds Bar' sponsored Hanworth Park FC would like to book their end of season awards bash at the club please.

Park have just secured the Intermediate division title and will be looking to celebrate in style . We'd like to book for sometime in June, ideally Saturday 21st. If someone could get back to me that would be great. If the game is on tomorrow night i'll be down.

Not sure if this was passed on but under the sponsorship agreement we were entitled to four free bookings of the hall and have so far used one.

i will get a memeber of the board to talk to you Colin, grab me tomorrow night

Can one of the new management team possibly answer my query?

We want to book the hall in June, please can you let me know what dates (friday or saturday night) are available.

Err, they've been on here all week asking for ridiculous ideas to get people in the bar at times when there is no football on (hasn't worked before, not likely to work now!)

Got to agree there Colin. It seems obvious to us (probably because we've seen so many attempts at this over the years) but the only way to attract punters into the bar is by having a football match.
The only real success at having non football related functions (excluding private hires) was the discos that were staged in the 70s. I can testify to these wonderful alcohol fuelled nights but sadly didn't always remember them.

Agree, Captain very happy days, but as far as I can remember? There were groups playing at the club on a Saturday evening once a month during the late 60's. Clearly your memory has been more affected than you remember??!! Still you know what they say about remembering the 60's??

I dare say we can all think of the many functions that were held in the Clubhouse and Bar, but i was merely pointing out what a success the discos were.
I still think that the discos were the only real success. Certainly on a regular basis.
The discos were incredibly well attended with bar takings that the club can only dream about nowadays.

That is not the board, that is the management of Hammonds, as its a deal through our sponsorship of another organisation this will have to go through the club board

Thanks all for hijacking my topic. Now is there any chance at all of an answer to my original question.

WE WANT TO BOOK THE BAR AT THE END OF JUNE FOR OUR AWARDS EVENING. CAN SOMEBODY LET ME KNOW OF THE AVAILABLE DATES!

I did ring the club 3 times today but got no answer every time. We may not be paying for hiring the hall but you can be certain we will drink a load of cash away.

Any chance of an answer?

Colin, you should have rung the club tonight. The bar was open and despite the weather there was a good few watching the Womens U-18s match v QPR.

As this thread has mentioned, the bar is always open when a match is on!
