The good run continued against Hartley Wintney - 4 goals and another clean sheet. As early as 4mins we saw Craig Davis breaking down the left hand side but his cross-shot was met with a strong palm away by the keeper. Nathan got into the action early and slid a ball across which his midfield colleague Louis-Rae hit just wide. On 14mins we went ahead. Otis and Billy between them tackled the Hartley Wintney player in posession. Otis moved forward with the ball - laying off to Louis-Rae. His flick over the defender was ideal for Craig to lash the ball powerfully past the keeper. The game then went into a quiet phase but jumped into life on the half hour mark when Joey Collewijn hit a low ball across the 18yard box - which Louis-Rae hit just wide. On 32mins we won a free kick near to the corner flag. Luke Kanjor put in a beautifully delivered ball which was met with close range header from Elliott Brathwaite to double the lead.
A slow start to the 2nd half allowed Hartley Wintney their first real sniff of goal. A crossfield ball to the tall number 9 saw him control the ball with a good touch and fire a left foot shot across Joe, which went narrowly wide. Joey Collewijn had a couple of half chances, which on a different night could have fell differently. The first was an attempt to slide in on the end of Louis-Rae's cross, but the keeper just got to the cross first. The second attempt Joey was through on goal, but again their keeper did well to claim at his feet. Midway through the half the game was sealed when Nathan made a great run and shot - the ball somehow fell to Dayo to finish from close range, with the Wintney defenders calling for offside. The final goal was courtesy of a Stitch header - after Joey turned provider with a cross to the far post. A decent show against a team, who looked more experienced than some we have faced to date.
