Hampton went to 11 out of 11 victories after a tough game against a Tring side, who having put in a lot of effort just tired towards the end - which we were able to take advantage of.

The warm conditions meant a fairly easy paced start as each side tried to get the ascendancy. It meant the first half did not have too many clear cut opportunities for either side. Tring worked extremely hard to close us down when we were in posession, giving our lads one of their toughest examinations to date.
The first real chance fell to Tring, from a corner, but the header gave Joe an easy save to make. Our first chance didn't really come until about 20mins into the game when a Quashie header was again comfortably saved. Joe was tested again 5mins later but again saved easily from the forwards header.
We then seemed to get started - especially when feeding the ball to Stitch on the right hand side. Indeed it was a long free kick from Joe Talbot which found Stitch who delivered a low cross, which Joey Collewijn connected with - the Tring keeper saved, the ball falling to Dayo but he hit the ball into the ground, allowing the keeper to make a fine 2nd save.
Ashley Quashie made a powerful run in midfield - and slipped the ball to Louis-Rae Beadle - his low shot again was well saved by the Tring keeper.
As the first half came to a close Stitch nearly set up two goals - one from a cross, one from a corner - but Dayo and James Brown were just unable to direct their efforts on target.

In the 2nd half we seemed to step up a gear - just a couple of minutes into the half Louis-Rae hit a shot just over the bar. On 55mins Joey came close when his header was tipped over by the Tring keeper.
On the hour mark we made a switch bringing on Ola for Dayo.
The effect was nearly immediate - Ola picking up the ball and making a powerful run goalwards. He was brought to ground, with a fair tackle, but with both players on the ground Ola's appeal for handball by the defender was waived away by the excellent referee. However it was not long before Ola was in the thick of the action again.
This time he held the ball up superbly well and then slipped a neat pass to Louis-Rae who took the ball in his stride. As he shot a defender slid in to block the shot - but the nett result was the ball looping over the helpless keeper into the goal.
Tring fought back and came close twice from long distance. We cleared a corner but the Tring player hit a dipping volley from fully 35yards going just over the bar. Then a Tring free-kick from the edge of the area was hit directly into the wall-but the ball rebounded to a Tring player who's strike went just over the goal.
With 5mins to go we nearly got a 2nd goal - Joey Collewijn chased down a lost cause - but the keepers clearance hit Joey. It could have gone anywhere - but ended up just wide. Louis-Rae and Ola linked again, this time Ola getting onto Louis-Rae's clever pass-but as he held off the defender he mis-hit the shot.
However Ola's reward came 2mins from time - Billy Witham's long clearance fell to Ola.
Tring had commited player's forward searching for an equaliser and though Ola could have squared the ball as one option - he held off the defender and roundly thumped the ball into the goal to make the points safe.
We nearly got a 3rd-which would have been a touch harsh on Tring-when Joey Collewijn's cross was met at the far post by James Brown, but his header was just wide.
