Tables for the DINNER JAZZ this Friday are filling up, but there is a conspicuous absence of supporters again. The elegant Helen Baden and her jazz trio will be entertaining accompanied by a superb three course menu selection at 25.oo per person.
Tables need to be reserved, so give us a call at the club on
020-8979-2456.
If you would like to attend but not be dining, we would be delighted to see you, with a nominal charge of 5.oo per person.
HAMMOND CLUB EVENTS are intended to raise funds for the club so we can buy new players, improve the grounds and facilities, with a view to promotion. We lost key players this year who were offered more oney elsewhere. If all you Hampton supporters attend one club event a month, and spend loads on food and drink at the games, who knows...we may be beating West Ham in the premiership one day...!

Terrific night last night. The food was great (well done Gary), the music was excellent and we even had a turn from Sarah (without accompanienment!). Only about 30 though, could have done with a few more. Looking forward to the next one.

I understand the frustration at a poor turnout, but your comments are a little unfair. Supporters spend alot of money throughout the season supporting their team... a pre season friendly match with a 50% increase on the normal league charge etc doesn't help... People also spend money on programmes, replica shirts, beer, burgers etc, not everyone ha the cash, or time to go to every event.
Saying things that can be seen as our players left for more money, because not enough people attended a jazz night is totally inaccurate. I would never expect Hampton to pay a player £500 a week, and nor would I want the club to do that.
And I think most people of my generation and the one before and after, just have no interest in Jazz music whatsoever. Perhaps a different kind of music next time would attract more? Perhaps and indie or rock night, battle of the bands, maybe put a drinks promotion on, and even advertise it to local students too?

Jamie raises a valid point there. I would wager that the very mention of the word Jazz would send most of the 500 or so average attendence running a mile. I happen to like jazz and would have come had I not been in Spain.
Have the bar committee considered have a horse racing night?
Always a good laugh and I'll bet you'd attract a lot more punters. All money raised going back into the club. _________________

Whatever the club puts on at Hammonds we have to bear in mind that we are in a residentail area and we will be deluged with complaints if we make too much noise (as in battle of the bands) also a student night is extremely doubtful as we will be faced with attempted under age drinking and all that goes with it.
If you having a sit down meal, Jazz (or should we say, smooth sounds,) is better to accompany a meal and chat.
The idea is also to appeal to a wider audience as the bar is not supported to any extent by fans apart from match days.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but how about Bingo?
Up this way there are massive Bingo halls all over the place, surely holding one at the club would get all the older people in the area out for a night... and I wouldn't epxect the noise would lead to complaints... also perhaps domino's night.... pool/darts teams?
