Beavers ( 1 ) 3 – 0(0) Hey Jude ( Brentford )

The Beavers started off with nearly a full squad to pick from with Colin Rance being allowed out for his first appearance of the season and we were looking for revenge for the 5-2 loss against the Bees earlier in the season.

Hampton started the brighter and were camped in the Brentford half for the first 15 mins and after about the 5th long throw from Colin, Dj smashed a 25 yarder against the bees bar after a header clear found him lurking around the edge of the box. The beavers were much the better side and hit the bar again minutes later from yet another long throw. We took the lead 23 mins in when Ladzo making his debut picked the ball out 25 yards out skipped though 2 challenges before sliding the ball past the keeper. The rest of the half saw a few half chances for both sides but Curt in goal did not have a lot to do.
The second half started with Brentford having their best spell possesion wise but could not get past the brick wall of Colin & Phil in defence. Just before the hour mark it was 2 nil when Ladzo broke down the left and crossed for Alex Kitson to score from close range. From then in it was a matter of how many the beavers would get and the ball was in the net again soon after only for the linesman to disallow for offside even though there was a defender on the line. On 82 mins the game was all over when Cas fresh from a 2hr drive from Birmingham smashed home from close range to make the it 3 nil. The last 8 mins saw Beavers change their front 4 and see the game out comfortably.

MOM : Whole Team. Near perfect performance.

Team : Curt , DJ, John Williams, Phil, Colin, Cas, Giles, Alex, Joe L, Chris, Ladzo.
Subs used: Dan, Tyler, Daniel, Adam, Alex Kitson.
Not used: Joe Wooley
